Job Title: Print and Embroidery Production Operative Starting Salary: £7.83 per hour - (Increasing to £8.75 after successful 3 month fixed term month probation) Hours: 37.5 hours on shift rota (6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am) Reports to: Production Area Team Leader Location: Trafford Park, Manchester Background: Clothes2order is part of the Quayside Group and is an award-winning supplier of personalised clothing. Job Description Summary/Objective: Working in a busy but rewarding production environment, our production operators are an integral part of our business function. No day will ever be boring as you would be working throughout our production area on 3 different areas producing customised garments for our customers and helping them show pride in their identity. This is a hands on and energetic role, and you will need to be a dynamic individual who is not afraid of rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in! Essential Functions: Operating and maintaining daily the latest embroidery and printing machinery. Setting up the machine with the correct files and settings for a fantastic print/embroidery. Framing garments ready for embroidery. Loading and unloading the machine to ensure correct positions on garments. Placing printed garments on large industrial flat-bed dryer. Weeding vinyl and versacamm prints ready for heat pressing. Heat pressing garments using the latest hydraulic press machines. 1st line quality checking. Reading and printing to specific customer requirements using tablets and paper invoices. Secondary Functions: General cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Performing daily checks to ensure machines are operating effectively. Report to your Team Leader if machine or equipment is faulty or requires attention. Follow strict health and safety guidelines to ensure yours and colleagues safety. Ad hoc duties commensurate with the role. Person Specification: Experience: Experience of working with garment production is a major advantage and applicants with this experience will be prioritised. At least 12 months experience of working within a production environment is essential. Competencies: Strong attention to detail. Quick and fearless learner. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. An organised and efficient approach – able to understand and follow instructions on Tablet and update Tablet clearly. Flexible attitude to work, with ability to adapt quickly to new processes and procedures. The ability to work to strict deadlines and achieve KPI’s. Able to remain calm under pressure. Good problem solving skills. Good concentration and ability to focus. Technical attitude for working with machines and computers.
