They also like to have fun! They are currently seeking a Logistics Operations Manager for their depot in Hampshire, close to the South Coast. The position is permanent.Key Features of the Role: In this role you will oversee operations on the site to ensure that agreed standards of service, quality and health and safety are consistently exceeded within budgeted costs. Reporting to the Branch Manager, manage the transport and warehouse operations of a 100,000 sq. ft. site with 12 warehouse staff and 12 LGV divers and ensure the optimisation of transport, warehouse and stock to provide the highest levels of service to customers. Ensure optimum route planning and manage the transport and warehouse budget and be responsible for ensuring that all procedures are completed in accordance with health & safety, environmental, equal opportunities and transport legislation and best practice. Managing and negotiating positive outcomes at times of heavy demands and conflicting interests; the Logistics Manager will add value to the site through applying expertise and considerable powers of influence and persuasion. You will work closely with the business management team and support the business’ strategy for each of our brands by managing storage, equipment and vehicles. Your core skills in logistics will enable robust planning, reception and storage of goods as well as ensuring the customer base is well serviced by efficient deliveries.Knowledge and Skills: To be successful you will be an accomplished Operations Manager and must have or be working towards a Transport Manager CPC. You will have recent experience of running a successful logistics operation, strong organisational and man management skills together with the knowledge to introduce effective systems and a strong commercial understanding and orientation. You’ll need to be enthusiastic and have a real flair for customer service. You will also ideally have sales experience and a good level of education (including at least GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above) and be comfortable with basic IT packages. If you’re a great team player, with great interpersonal skills, and have a desire to learn within a business with genuine opportunities for career progression your interest is welcomed.What’s on Offer: Basic salary will be around £38,000 pa. In addition there is a bonus scheme which can pay up to 15% of salary. Share Incentive Plan and Shopping Perks Scheme. The depot operation runs from 05.30 to 18.30, Monday to Friday but some flexibility, including Saturday mornings may be required during busy periods.
