Our client near Amersham is looking for a HR Manager to cover the Head of HR's maternity leave on a fixed-term contract with the potential to go permanent in the future. You will run the day-to-day activities of the busy HR department, supporting around 700 workers. Description Our client near Amersham is looking for a HR Manager to cover the Head of HR's maternity leave on a fixed-term contract with the potential to go permanent in the future. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to get exposure running the day to day activities of the busy HR department, supporting around 700 workers. The position will report into the Head of HR before the maternity leave period (up until December 2018), but during the maternity leave period (December 2018 - December 2019) they will report into the Managing Director and attend the Leadership Team meetings representing HR. During the Head of HR's maternity leave, the HR Manager will manage the whole HR team day-to-day, comprising of one Senior HR Adviser, two HR Administrators, and three Recruitment professionals. You will make judgement calls on complex ER cases and will be required to support ER cases and the team's Senior HR Advisor. You will also be responsible for delivering the HR service to budget and helping prepare the 2020 budget. There is also the possibility that you will need to manage a switch to a new HRIS - Workday - during 2019. The position is based at our Support Centre near Amersham, but there will be travel to other sites in England as required (typically 1/2 days per month). Profile The initial contract period would run until 30th December 2019. The start date would depend on the successful candidate's availability, either an immediate start or a notice period of one month would be acceptable. It is important that the successful candidate has a full handover period with the Head of HR and spends some time working alongside the HR team before the start of the maternity cover period. To apply for this role, your profile will closely match the following: You will be a very strong HR Manager/HR Business Partner, with excellent Generalist experience to date. You will have very good employment law knowledge balanced with commercial acumen as you will be making judgement calls on complex ER cases. TUPE experience is essential as this happens frequently (both TUPE in and out). People management experience would be a distinct advantage. Experience with Tier 2 Visa Sponsorship Licence is desirable as the successful candidate will be responsible for this activity as well. Generalist HR experience within the healthcare or social care industries would be an advantage. Preferably you will be available at short notice, but up to one month's notice is fine.
