Environmental Scientist An opportunity has arisen to join an established and dynamic company, working within their Environmental Science department. Practical experience of soil and groundwater surveys and follow up remediation works would be preferred, but candidates with a good consultancy background in a similar environment will be considered. The successful candidate would work on a variety of contaminated site projects at mainly domestic properties throughout Ireland and will ideally have experience of the following; site investigations, risk assessment, remediation design and supervision, analytical interpretation, report writing and project management. The selected candidate will have and BSc or MSc in a relevant subject (eg. Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Environmental Science) as well as an appropriate amount of professional experience of working on contaminated site projects. This is an interesting and challenging position that will involve travelling to remote sites and overnight stays. The candidate will have a lot of customer interaction and will be expected to be a key point of contact throughout the remediation projects. A full driving license would be required as well as a willingness to travel. The candidate will be expected to be in the head office in Belfast one or two days a week but otherwise they will be on site or travelling to site in either Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland. Only applicants with the above experience will be considered as the selected candidate will be expected to hit the ground running and have the ability to work autonomously. Minimum Requirements • Experience in contaminated land and/or hydrogeological surveys or consulting• Experience in preparing soil and water remediation strategies• Ability to physically undertake soil surveys by borehole• An ability to produce accurate, timely detailed reports• Very strong communication skills (both external and internal)• Self starting and highly motivated approach to work• Driver's licence• Ability to travel throughout Ireland and stay away from home if necessary Job Description The Environmental Science Division provides site surveys remediation strategies and specialist technical services relating to contaminated sites on behalf of clients in Ireland. The role holder would ensure the high quality and timely provision of such services across the island of Ireland reporting to the lead Environmental Scientist in Northern Ireland. The primary responsibilities of the role are to support the Environmental Science business throughout Ireland delivering high quality services to an established portfolio of key clients while actively growing new business opportunities. Responsibilities of the role include the following: Responsibility for delivering and quality of the current surveying and remediation strategy workload.Achieve client satisfaction by ensuring timeline and quality SLA's are met.Provision of technical leadership for investigation/remediation programs.Identify and actively develop key opportunities in the market place.
