Electronics Design Team Lead
Electronics Design Team Lead – Aerospace, Electronic, Warfare, Radar, Electronics, RF Systems. Our client is a highly successful aerospace company. They are recruiting an Electronic Design Team Leader The Electronics Design Team Leader will have design responsibility for the modelling, simulation, analysis and design of the RF, analogue and digital hardware components required by the business. The designs will be designed to be compliant with the customer, end use and regulatory requirements. The team will provide the necessary documentation required by the Design Office to support end use certification. The role reports into the Development Engineering Director and has a team of direct reports including Simulation & Modelling Engineers, RF Engineers and Hardware Design Engineers. You will be responsible for managing the resource allocation and task assignment for a key NATO program. The Team Leader is accountable for all costs, schedules and technical aspects of all assigned work packages in the project team. They will lead team excellence through processes, practices and continuous improvement to improve the performance, capability and competencies of the team. The Systems Design Authority shall employ the appropriate discipline processes, practices and tools to ensure that responsibilities are completed to meet the required project requirements and discipline quality. The business has recently been awarded a contract for the design and development of a range of operational training electronic warfare pods by the MoD on behalf of NATO. This will provide realistic training in electronic warfare to the member countries, in order to be able to operate in a real time situation. Reporting into the Development Engineering Director, you will drive the development and design phases of the project ensuring key customer milestones are delivered and resource is allocated efficiently. This position is based at Bournemouth International Airport site and requires occasional customer travel. This will include, but is not limited to, development of the firmware design architecture, models, configuration of FPGA SoC components, firmware tests and documentation as well as being involved in the review, verification, place and route and meet timing processes. The Engineer shall employ the appropriate processes, practices and tools to ensure that responsibilities are completed to meet the required project requirements with the needed quality. This role provides a variety of opportunities, the focus being on the Integration, Test and Customer Acceptance of ATC systems but using the knowledge gained performing these tasks, the engineer should be able to contribute towards analysis, simulation, demonstrations, training and support activities adding value to the wider development team and supporting the operations team.
