Forensic Administration Assistant Digital Forensic Team Location- Based at Surrey Police HQ Guildford Salary: Grade C Full Time contract We are looking for a Forensic Administration Assistant to provide effective and efficient administrative support to the Digital Forensics Analyst and the local Management Team. You will be required to provide this support by accepting submissions into the unit in accordance with our standing operating procedures and current service level agreement with those who we support. The Role You will be accountable for exhibit handling and ensuring the case management system is full updated, whilst ensuring the highest standard of accuracy and attention to details is maintained at all time. To be successful in this post you must have excellent computer keyboard skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel and the ability to acquire the skills to maintain the case management system. The successful post holder will have good interpersonal and communication skills to enable them to deal courteously and efficiently with enquiries both internally and externally. You will be flexible in your outlook and be able to cope with and apply new procedures and working practices to assist with organisational and procedural changes. You will need a full driving licence and be expected to undergo a Surrey Police driving course. The closing date for receipt of applications is 18th June 2018. Key Responsibilities - Undertake the control and management of the process for investigators making submissions to the DFT and collection of same following the conclusion of the forensic examination process - Maintain DFT records including, spreadsheets for process, prepare management information and spreadsheet to show when exhibits are submitted. - Maintain equipment / asset registers for DFT equipment - Maintain the register for the process for the submissions for outsourcing. - Deal with internal and external telephone calls' and appointments for investigators to attend the DFT or local delivery locations - Promote and comply with all relevant Sussex and Surrey Police policies including those concerning diversity, the Code of Ethics and health and safety requirements - Maintain the records in relation to the administration processes surrounding the operation of Digital Download Kiosks, (DDK) - Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as may be reasonably required, including specific duties of a similar or lesser graded post. Skills & Experience - 5 GCSEs A-C grade including Maths and English - Evidenced IT skills operating across a number of policing applications and specialist databases - Strong communication skills - to be able to negotiate and influence investigators - Good standard of written English - Ability & experience to communicate at all levels internally & externally - Attention to detail - Planning and organisational skills - Previous experience of record keeping - Capable of absolute discretion when dealing with casework of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.
