They currently have an excellent opportunity for a Residential Support Officer (RSO) to join their team in Hereford. The Role: As a Residential Support Officer (RSO) you will work under the direction of the Residential Manager to provide a high level of support to students within the halls of residence that promotes student achievement during their residential placement on campus. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Fulfil staffing rota requirements ensuring student support needs and Health and safety requirements are met Act as Link Worker to a designated list of students ensuring regular contact and entitlement to residential provision is delivered Plan and implement the delivery of individual Residential Plans including active participation in the student review process Monitor the welfare of students and respond in a measured and proactive way to student personal and social development needs Proactively support students to attend and engage fully with their educational programme and report any barriers to learning to the Residential Manager To support students at mealtimes within the refectory environment Liaise with Pastoral Support Team to enable students to work towards personal and social development targets Daily monitoring and responding to food hygiene issues To take responsibilities for Hall files being - current, secure, accessible and stored within the legal requirements Essential Candidate Criteria for the Residential Support Officer: Previous experience providing support in a residential setting to vulnerable groups Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care / equivalent experience Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills Understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to safe practice Flexibility with work patterns Desirable Candidate Criteria for the Residential Support Officer: Previous experience delivering care/support plans Previous experience of working with people with visual impairment Previous experience working with young people Awareness of Ofsted National Minimum Standards Previous experience dealing with conflict situations Awareness of the needs of people with disabilities Manual handling, safeguarding, food hygiene, and first aid qualifications/training Are you the Residential Support Officer that we are looking for based in Hereford ?
