Growing Strong Project Co-ordinator 18 hours p/w Initial 12 month fixed term contract, extension subject to funding Our 'Growing Strong' project was set up to support disadvantaged children in Newham who are affected by food poverty and deprivation. We are looking to recruit an experienced co-ordinator to deliver a package of services that will provide these 'at risk' local children with greater access to healthy food, exercise and educational support; to help them thrive despite disadvantage. This post is supported by BBC Children in Need. The main aims of the post are to: Implement the BBC Children in Need funded project, specifically to develop a range of services that tackle poverty and promote the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families living in the London Borough of Newham. Coordinate the delivery of a programme of activities and services that respond to the needs of local children and young people; particularly those experiencing significant disadvantage and poverty. Work with BDCA and partners to increase local children and young people's levels of health, safety, enjoyment, achievement and inclusion. Please note that all post holders will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
