The Position : Our customer is looking for an Intellectual Property and Approvals Engineer to provide Group wide support to protecting Intellectual Property through Patent applications, identifying and pursuing patent infringements, non-disclosure management, and implementing measures to safeguard trade secrets. The roles approval aspect will be concerned with identifying country legal product requirements and related product approval activities. The required candidate should have an excellent technical background, along with the energy and motivation to deliver. Requirements: We are looking for somebody with the following: Thorough understanding of areas covering Intellectual Property Knowledge of patent process Knowledge of how to conduct patent searches Technical authoring skills A basic understanding of electronics and/or physics Responsibilities: Conducting patent searches. Interpretation of patent documents and patent application examination reports. Working within a multidisciplinary team to extract key ideas and concepts, and refine to the point where the novel aspects of invention can be clearly stated. Preparation of description of inventions, to provide to patent solicitor. Assessing how new IP generated can be protected. Managing NDA process Providing appropriate reports on a regular basis. Identifying country legal product requirements and other compliance activities that arise over the course of project development In addition to the above patent related activities, there is scope to be involved with wider business activities including business development and market research.
