Job Role: Quality Assurance Engineer - Electronics/Software Location: Gloucestershire Type: Permanent Salary/Rate: £30k - £40k DoE Start Date: ASAP Clearance: SC or Willing to Undergo Quality Assurance Engineer - Electronics/Software - Permanent - Gloucestershire - £30k - £40k DoE Our client is looking for an Assurance Engineer to deliver quality plans that are compliant to contractual and regulatory requirements and demonstrate the company's innovative assurance approach to potential customers. This person will drive product quality improvement through collaboration and effective application of quality/continuous improvement tools and techniques to current engineering projects. In addition the Assurance Engineer will provide independent assessment, analysis and audit of engineering developments throughout the product life cycle and will coordinate and deliver savings through continuous improvement projects aligned to business plans. Key Responsibilities: Write and deliver project quality plans in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and business requirements. Perform benchmarking and establish internal standards for reliability, serviceability, usability, durability and build quality in our new products Champion and support the use of quality tools within engineering development to deliver reduced risk and capitalise on opportunities. Manage and perform RCA on quality incidents and non-conformance within engineering development. Contribute to project quality objectives through attendance to each development's integrated project team meetings. Lead the internal lessons-learnt process across all bids, projects and business activities. Support the business assurance function in rollout of continuous improvement initiatives. Perform audit and review of the compliance and effectiveness of efforts to meet contractual and regulatory requirements by projects. Deliver 6-sigma improvement projects aligned to business goals and objectives (training will be provided as necessary). Ensure that all business activity is conducted in line with company values, policies and ethics codes of conduct. Undertake any other activity as reasonably requested by management. Skills/Experience: Demonstrable experience in writing quality plans compliant to ISO, AQAP, DEFSTAN, DEFCON and MIL standards for civil and military sector bids. Demonstrable and relevant experience/understanding of electronics/software engineering. Able to work with and influence stakeholders, across all business functions and levels of the organisation. Must possess strong communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to work/communicate effectively with line management, suppliers and customer representatives. Understanding of the principles of quality assurance, planning and control. Extremely proficient in the use of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint packages. Desirable Skills: Experience within Delivery Assurance. Qualification in 6-sigma methodology and experience in delivering improvement projects. Internal quality auditing and quality audit management.
