Whether you are building applications from scratch, debugging existing code, or collaborating with various teams or mentoring team-members, your skills will be tested and your knowledge-base will grow as you rise to meet the challenges. Desired Skills: Previous Application Programming/Development experience designing, developing and deploying high-volume, multi-tiered, distributed transactional applications Deep knowledge of Java including Spring and ORM related Libraries Understanding of RESTful principles, best practices, and related technologies Knowledge of test-driven development and relevant frameworks Experience in data access technologies and patterns including relational database experience and proven abilities in SQL and data modelling is required Experience working in Agile SCRUM development process and a good understanding of various phases of Software Development Lifecycle Ability to communicate, written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional team, strong attention to detail, confident enough to raise questions and identified issues Advantageous Knowledge of API Gateways such as Mulesoft and experience working with RAML for documenting API specifications. My client is looking for a Python Software Engineer to help support their rapid growth and to build new scalable products and feature sets at an impressive velocity. They are a London based Edtech startup, backed by a leading Tier 1 Investment Bank, that develops software products for universities worldwide. They are a growing, close-knit team that moves fast and is constantly innovating and adding exciting new features and products to our offering. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES We're looking for someone who: Communicates effectively in fluent English Can work autonomously and take initiative on new projects Enjoys working in a collaborative atmosphere where new ideas are valued Understands the value of our product and is driven to make it a success Has experience in full stack web development Has proven problem-solving and analytical skills, for example through a Computer Science (or related) degree Can manage complexity and maintain high performance in a rapidly growing codebase Has built products which use modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue Has used automated testing and TDD to ensure quality in previous projects QUALIFICATIONS On your first day, we'll expect you to have experience in: - Building and managing a large-scale web API - Implementing a continuous delivery system with complex requirements - Developing with Python and MongoDB - Frontend experience with JavaScript, React and React Native.
