Scientist/Senior Scientist - Microbiology Fermentation - Upstream Process Development 18 month contract (LTD Company or umbrella) Rate: £25-£35 per hour Dependent on experience & qualifications Location: Manchester Remote working is possible for aspects of the project Real have an opportunity for a Scientist in Microbiology Fermentation to join a biotechnology start-up company based in Manchester for an 18 month project (contract). The project is on behalf of a global FMCG manufacturer and your task is to develop an SOP/IP for up scaling. The product is a biologic homecare product that will go on sale around the world. The Fermentation Scientist will be responsible for developing and optimising upstream processes for protein production, executing lab scale bioreactor activities for scale-up, technology transfer and process validation. As well as strong a strong background in upstream process development, the Fermentation Scientist will need to have good level of knowledge of downstream processes (eg. Protein purification). Requirements Minimum of MSc (ideally a PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline (Biotechnology, Molecular biology or Biochemistry). Experience in E.coli and P.pastoris upstream fermentation. Experience in process development using bioreactors. Experience in project management. Some experience with downstream processing would be preferable. Industrial experience would be preferable. Responsibilities Designing, developing and optimising fermentation processes. Developing protocols and SOP for process scale-up. Working with production methods such as shake flasks, 1 to 15L bioreactors. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing results, data and progress updates. Senior Credit Risk Strategy Analysts x2 Loans/Cards London based Real Staffing is currently working closely with our client, a leading financial institution with an excellent reputation as an employer, to assist them in the recruitment of an additional 2 people into their Credit Risk team based in London (City). This role will provide the successful candidate with ongoing challenge, as well as exposure across Credit Risk. In the role, you will take responsibility for the development of Credit Risk Strategies that are in-line with the overall strategy of the business. This will involve analysing large volumes of data (£10bn+ lending, 1 million+ potential annual acquisitions) to best manage risk across the portfolio and how best to make decisions across the book whilst maintain attractive propositions with customers best interests at the fore. To be successful in your application for this role, you need to be able offer a number of years experience working in a Credit Risk environment with good conceptual thinking and analytical capabilities that will allow you to optimise strategies. Alternatively you may have gained transferable skills in a marketing analytics/strategy environment and be keen to move into credit risk. Working with large datasets you will distil information that predicts customer behaviours, mastering decision trees, regressions, scorecards, and other modelling techniques will be critical to refine this into insight and action. SAS knowledge (or SQL, R or other similar tools) will be needs, alongside a strong appreciation of statistical techniques. Previous experience in a consumer lending environment beneficial.
