Apprentice Field Based Surveyors (no previous experience required) Brief Overview Are you looking for a change in career? Does a field-based role in Telecoms Fibre Surveying interest you? We are looking to put together a large team of Telecoms Fibre Surveyors to work on a huge fibre roll out project. My client is looking for keen and motivated individuals to join their team. Their commitment to you is that they will train you up from scratch to become a Telecoms Fibre Surveyor, put you through training and pay for you to take the relevant qualification. The roles on offer will be initial 6-month contracts, but the total length of the contract will be a multiyear one. With the UK's current focus on upgrading its fibre network, this is a great time to get into telecoms fibre surveying. The role is field-based and at the moment this will be mainly around the Midlands area (Birmingham, Derby and Leicester). You will be provided with a van + fuel expenses + hotel costs when staying away. The contract will be paid via an Umbrella Company. The advertised rate is an Umbrella rate. At the end of the training process (6 months), you will have an hourly rate review, be fully trained up and have very much in-demand skills. My client is looking to hold interviews ASAP and that will be followed up by an induction. Duties: Attending customer sites to determine the best route to install Ethernet fibre. Interpreting Telecom designs and completing documentation to include: ISP pathways Drawings Address listings Bill of materials Pictures Construction plans Project time lines. Carrying out an area survey of commercial buildings (internal and external) to ascertain anything preventing a successful installation. Meeting with clients and resolve any issues, negotiate routes and discuss anything preventing the project receiving approval to move forward. Identifying the customer's network and review proposed methods of construction to ensure that all local, state, federal requirements are compliant. Speaking with clients to enable Wayleaves, Permits and Agreement to be obtained. We require the following form you to be considered for the role: Ideally you will have some experience of the following, either academically or commercially: Working with maps (background in Geography, Geology, GIS) ex-military, engineering, communications, utilities, working in a field-based role. However, if you show the right attitude and you can demonstrate this, we are open to considering people who do not come from any of the above backgrounds.
