Working in the busy Water Regulations department 22.2 hours per week, on a part-time basis, Monday to Wednesday, you'll provide critical support to the team who the majority of the time are out of the office carrying out water regulations inspections. Your day will be varied, as you administer all day-to-day correspondence, you'll maintain databases, monitor the team's mailbox and book customer appointments on behalf of the Water Regulations Inspectors. Accuracy is key, working with the other support staff in the department; you'll update schedules, compile inspection reports and follow up with customers to ensure they have completed any remedial work that has been requested. This position will give you the chance to develop skills within a niche sector, bringing opportunities to develop in a support function and within Water Regulations. What do you need? You should be educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent), with at least a pass in English and Maths. It's essential that you have previous experience of working within an administrative function and have planned, organised and balanced a busy, varied, workload. You should be an advanced user in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and have previous experience of communicating via telephone, providing excellent customer service. Reporting to the Groundwater Engineering Unit Manager, you'll undertake a variety of maintenance work on our groundwater assets and provide support on a host of day-to-day operations including borehole pump replacements and maintenance and groundwater asset surveys and inspections. Key responsibilities include: Carry out pump installations at critical and non critical sites ensuring stocks are always maintained via electrical and wet well testing. Support the borehole maintenance programme including acidisation and jetting of borehole columns. Support the delivery of the CCTV inspection programme. Participate in the delivery of the headworks inspection and maintenance programmes. Adherence to hygiene standards and Health & Safety policies and procedures when completing work.
