ActionAid UK are recruiting for an interim Deputy Director of Humanitarian Policy and Practice to lead a talented team of professionals until June 2019. The Humanitarian Policy and Practice team is a key delivery partner in ActionAid UK's new strategy to promote a world where women and girls are valued, live free from violence and can exercise their rights to promote their own economic empowerment, safety, equality and voice. The Deputy Director will establish or continue ActionAid UK's relationships with key policy, academic and institutional funding audiences in the humanitarian sector, including DFID, ECHO, DEC and the Start Network. The Deputy Director will lead ActionAid UK's institutional funding strategy for our humanitarian work, guiding, business processes, relationships and evaluation tools that support the delivery of exceptional income results against ambitious objectives. To be successful in this role, applicants must have a track record of delivering successful institutional fundraising strategies; including expertise in the cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and prospecting of large institutional donors in the UK and multilaterally. You will be working with a team of highly able and committed individuals. As a senior leader of a talented group of technical advisers, fundraisers and policy advisers; you will need to bring both strong fundraising skills and an expertise in humanitarian programmes and the rights of women and girls to the role.
