Akamai Technologies is looking for an experienced compliance professional to join its Legal Department as part of the Global Compliance team. Reporting to the Senior Director and Associate General Counsel for Global Compliance, this role will be responsible for implementing, developing, and promoting the company's global ethics and compliance program in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. The individual will work closely with our regional sales and marketing teams as well as internal stakeholders from Legal, Finance, Internal Audit, and Human Resources to build and strengthen Akamai's policies, procedures, and internal controls, and to advise EMEA regional executives on compliance-related issues. This position is Full time and is ideally based in London, though other locations may be considered based upon the candidate's qualifications and suitability. Basic Qualifications Minimum 5 years of PQE corporate compliance experience, whether in a compliance role or through legal practice, working as an auditor, or performing a financial control function. Desired Qualifications Juris Doctor (or internationally equivalent legal degree) preferred. Experience working in a compliance function (or similar/parallel role in a legal, finance, internal audit department) a global or multinational corporation, ideally in the Internet or technology industry Substantive experience in compliance practice areas common to global or multinational companies, including ethics, anti-bribery, trade compliance, conflicts of interest, data privacy. Familiarity with Internet and technology regulatory and legal frameworks in emerging markets and experience implementing compliance programs in such markets. Other important skills include: Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a globally distributed team. Proactive, entrepreneurial, and commercially oriented approach to recognizing needs, anticipating issues, solving problems and developing solutions. Project management experience, with keen attention to detail, excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize. A goal-oriented leader with the ability to persuade, influence and drive change in a fast-based complex global organization. First-rate personal and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to be a vocal advocate for compliance-related matters across a variety of constituencies.
