Senior Manager, Biostatistical Programming Competitive salary & comprehensive benefits package including bonus scheme Uxbridge UB8 1DH Our Global Statistical Programming Team: As a Senior Programming Manager, you will be part of our Global Statistical Programming team ensuring projects outsourced to Functional Services Provider are aligned to priorities and meet Amgen timeline, quality, data standards and compliance expectations. Senior Programming Manager role overview: The successful Senior Manager for the Program Resource Management (PRM) within the Global Statistical Programming (GSP) organization, will engage and align GSP staff with Amgen priorities, lead the hiring and on boarding of staff across the function, involve in managing Functional Service Provider (FSP), and lead operational efficiency and compliance with R&D standards and training requirements Responsibilities: Lead the hiring, headcount management, line management, career development and succession planning of RFT GSP staff Functional oversight of Product Programmers, Technical Managers, Study Lead Programmers and Study Programmers (RFT and FSP) Work cross-functionally to establish and maintain priorities on projects Allocation of staff to projects in alignment with priorities Lead functional training to ensure consistent interpretation and application of Amgen processes and standards; facilitate best practice sharing within GSP Lead/Contribute to development and review of process and controlled documents Ensuring staff adherence to operating standards and promoting standardization and best practice sharing to ensure compliance and operational efficiencies Providing input into the learning management system and RBC makeup in GSP Leading process improvement initiatives Partner with external suppliers to ensure appropriate oversight and assignment of non-permanent staff Contribute to the development and reporting of metrics Required Qualifications: Degree educated in quantitative or scientific subjects Extensive experience in statistical programming within a clinical development environment Experience working effectively in a globally dispersed team environment with cross-cultural partners Prior staff development leadership and project management experience Advanced SAS analysis and reporting skills In-depth knowledge of clinical trials research and drug development programming experience Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Working experience with external staffing providers Ability to train others Familiar with other programming languages (e.g. Java, R, or S-Plus) Broad understanding of software development life cycle The Company: Amgen is one of the world's largest independent biotechnology companies, with global revenue of $23 billion and nearly 20,000 employees globally.
