An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Forensic or Clinical Forensic Psychologist to join a special Hospital service located in Ayr, Scotland. As a Psychologist you will be working for one of UK's Leading health care providers.
This special clinic is a low secure hospital for males and females with mental illness and/or personality disorders. They offer specialised step-down facilities to enable patients to continue their recovery journey, maintain good mental health, and promote social inclusion and skills for a sustainable discharge into community living.
As a Forensic or Clinical Forensic Psychologist your day to day duties include:
To undertake specialist clinical duties contributing to assessment and treatment of patients.
To provide Psychological Therapies for with personality disorder /mental disorder/intellectual disability and complex trauma, developing specialist psychological formulations and assessments of women with complex presentations, formulating plans for their psychological treatments and implementing specialist psychological interventions for individuals and groups.
To provide specialist psychological assessments of patients based on appropriate analysis, interpretation, and integration of complex qualitative and quantitative data.
To administer and interpret assessments of cognitive and emotional functioning as required and to assist the multi-disciplinary team in diagnosis, problem formulation and the planning/development of an appropriate treatment plan.
To plan, implement, and evaluate individual and group treatments, on the basis of conceptualisations and formulations of patients’ problems based on appropriate theoretical and therapeutic models and informed by best practice guidelines.
An ideal Forensic or Clinical Psychologist must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:
You will be registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist and BPS Chartered.
You will have experience of working with people with a mental disorder but experience of working with individuals with histories of trauma and working with vulnerable women or female offenders.
You will have experience of and/or an interest in rehabilitation and the recovery of patients in a forensic setting.
To have clinical supervision training.
To have training in two or more distinct psychological therapies.
To have skills in individual and group work and in programme planning.
To have skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment to inform the psychological formulation and intervention.
To have well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, complex, highly technical and / or clinically sensitive information.
The successful Psychologist will receive an excellent annual salary of £40,000 - £43,000 pro-rata. This exciting position is for 30 hours a week. In return for your hard work and dedication you will receive the following generous benefits:
