About: You will provide advice and guidance to clients, in relation to a wide range of employment matters including grievances, disciplinary, TUPE, capability, discrimination, and any other employment related enquiries. Responsibilities: You will deal with all legal issues relating to employment and other contentious matters in the Employment Tribunal To appear as the organisations advocate on behalf of all the organisations departments on a wide range of employment matters To advise on legal matters which are complex and may have a high political profile and are often highly confidential and sensitive. To provide advocacy within specialist area and to undertake lengthy and complex cases with a proactive approach To ensure that the organisation operates within the law and is aware of its statutory duties and the risk/benefits associated with various courses of action in dealing with court cases and legal advice Experience: Solicitor with current practising certificate or Barrister with full rights of audience Wide knowledge of the law relating to Employment proceedings including complex areas such as the Equality Act 2010 and TUPE as well as an excellent working knowledge of all aspects of employment law, the relevant ACAS Codes of Practice and the Employment Tribunal Rules of Procedure. Proven skills in negotiation and legal research. Experience of preparing and presenting complex legal cases before the Employment Tribunal using specialist high level advocacy skills Contract: Maternity Cover (up to 12 months) Salary: £37,000 - £38,000 Location: Ipswich Flexible working
