Service Desk Controller Our client based in Bridgend has an urgent need for a Service Desk Controller to join their busy team. The position is to start as soon as possible on a temporary basis with a view to the role becoming permanent for the right candidate. The salary for this role is £25,000, plus benefits. You will have daily customer contact for breakdown management and control of a team of field based service engineers. The service controller plays an important part in providing a first class level of on-site service and will have a pivotal role in the continual improvement of our customer service delivery. You will be required to work 39 hours per week. Monday-Friday 08:00 – 17:00 but you will alternate Monday and Friday early finish 16:00. Successful applicants will be familiar with customer call handling and logging, organising and planning engineer despatch supported by effective and clear communication. The successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain excellent customer contact and call handling standards, and support and communicate with their engineering team, thus ensuring customers, both internal and external, receive an outstanding level of service. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experiences and/or abilities: * Be an excellent communicator with first class customer handling skills * Experience of working within a fast paced customer service environment * Have a confident and pleasant telephone manner * Possess strong decision making and prioritisation skills * Be committed and self-driven * Be a team player, with a flexible approach to their workload * Have well developed IT skills particularly Excel. Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous * Able to work under pressure and achieve deadlines and targets. * Have exceptional organisational skills Skills and Experience Required: * Previous Customer Service experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment * Experience coordinating engineers' schedules/materials etc. * Admin support experience essential * Excellent communication skills * The area for the current position is South & West Wales so knowledge of this area would be good. * Previous experience from a busy call handling office would be preferred as the role can be very demanding
