Trust and Grants Fundraiser
Sutton Scotney, Winchester, Hampshire
At Naomi House, we provide support to children and young people with complex medical conditions that mean they are unlikely to live into adulthood. We have two specialist units, Naomi House for children, and Jacksplace for young people, and we also offer bereavement support to the family as needed.
As part of our fundraising team you will contribute to our targets to generate sustainable income from Trust and Grant giving bodies and individuals. This will entail researching relevant Charitable Trusts and Grant giving bodies, preparing and writing applications and taking personal responsibility for this income stream. You will also monitor and manage the existing trust pipeline, and network externally to ensure that Grant giving bodies and Trusts are kept aware of the funding requirements of Naomi House.
This is also a role where you will represent the Trust at cheque presentations and other public events as necessary, conducting speeches and presentations as required, so you need to be professional, articulate and confident. Ideally with some experience of working in fundraising or within an appeal setting, you must have highly developed written and verbal communication skills as you will be required to persuade and negotiate, empathise and enthuse with appropriate conviction.
Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise are also key requirements, and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a good appreciating of stewardship and an understanding of philanthropic motivations and current trends in major giving across the UK.
Benefits include 28 days holiday, the opportunity to join a Group pension scheme, and a pleasant working environment.
