Job Description

Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine related sectors. Due to recent growth they now require an Electrical Controls Engineer to work out of their busy North East facility. The Role A member of the Systems department team, which provides coordinated delivery of integrated Control, Electrical and Hydraulic system solutions. Provide necessary technical expertise for a wide range of customer applications. Work as a member of the project team to ensure that the project meets budgets and deadlines through regular reviews. Provide well engineered design solutions to customer's requirements, following company design control procedures, as well as adopting industry best practice and re-use of proven design. Liaise with clients engineering staff, and ensure final deliverables meet customers' expectations. Ensure compliance to key directives and standards (company derived standards as well as national/international standards), with specific focus on safety. Follow working procedures and methods as required to achieve and maintain ISO9001:2008 accreditation. Follow a value engineering approach to ensure cost efficient solutions are designed that achieve the company goals of OSBIT (On Spec, To Budget, In Time) Provide training of customers personnel as required on specific design elements Provide concept proposal development and costing support to the sales department as and when required The Person Proven experience in a similar role in an bespoke engineering environment. Programming PLC, SCADA, HMI and VSD to control complex industrial machinery. Working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project-based organisation. A high level of competent with IT systems and tools Must be able to write technical documents such as design and test specifications. A flexible and hard-working attitude, must be able to work alone or as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Siemens S7 PLC or Rockwell ControlLogix PLC; and associated communications protocols Siemens WinCC/TIA-Portal SCADA/HMI or Rockwell RSView SCADA/HMI; and associated communications protocols. Desirable: Industrial safety systems up to IEC16508 SIL2, including FMEA analysis Siemens S7 Failsafe PLC or Rockwell GuardLogix PLC Cimplicity, Schneider CITECT SCADA/HMI and Invensis Wonderware SCADA/HMI. Common software languages such as scripting, VB, C/C++, etc Commissioning complex systems which include PES and Hydraulic Systems
