Our core values, mission and vision reflecting who we are as an organisation. The Warehouse Team Leader will work within our warehouse (postcode LE3 8JT)in Leicester. Key Activities / Accountabilities · Maintain all aspects of security in the warehouse/building · Identify shipments accurately · Process and locate shipments accurately · Pick, pack, palletize, load and dispatch shipments accurately · Ensure cargo picked and packed by others is compliant before dispatch · Understand supply chain management and operate accordingly · Ensure full compliance with customers cargo and delivery specifications · Good house keeping at all time including sweeping and emptying bins · Build and breakdown ULD’s and ocean containers · X-ray freight · Tie up export consols as required · Load/unload containers/trucks as required · Improve current practices with implementation of solutions to current problems · Can evaluate a problem and find a solution · Receive and issue shift handovers · Work closely with office staff · Develop and train staff · Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies · Other department admin tasks · Operate within companies QA system, including clean desk policy · Maintain clear and regular communication within the organisation · Gain an understanding of the import/export hub operation · GOH handling · Work under pressure · Give instruction to subordinate staff · Can operate the facility with the absence of management · Can lock and unlock the building securely and within the security procedures · Disciplinary of Staff PERSON PROFILE Warehouse Team Leader Essential Education and/ or Training Formal operational/logistics training would be an advantage. Preferred Experience and Knowledge Minimum 3 years experience in the industry Necessary Technical / Functional Skills · Avsec level D · Forklift license · Care and attention to detail · Knowledge of operational processes (warehouse and office) · Thorough understanding of customer needs · Excellent people skills · Confidence to deal with internal and external issues · Ability to appraise a given situation and offer credible solutions to improve practices · Ability to implement the solution and make it work · Excellent communication skills · Ability to work under pressure · Self motivating Required Behavioural Competencies · Result-oriented and driven to achieve goals and meet targets · Profitability and result-oriented and always looking for improvement in our business processes · Team oriented · Well organised · Quality focus · Willingness to be Multi modal · Good Knowledge of In House Computer System · Financial Awarenes · Willingness to work flexible hours as the business requires
