The Operations Technician role is part of a three person team, working a 12 hour shift pattern (days and nights) and is responsible to the Shift Team Leader for the safe and efficient operation of the Greenergy Plymouth Tank Farm. Duties consist of: Ensures safe and environmentally compliant operation and maintenance of the site and jetty Controlling operation of ship offloading at the jetty Monitoring, inspecting and controlling plant parameters Providing appropriate first line maintenance at the terminals and jetty. Responsible for the safe application and operation of the Permit to Work System with the Safe Working Procedures and its application within the Safety, Health and Environmental Policy. Contributes to shift terminal communication processes, fully participating in shift handovers. Provide terminal system start-up and shutdowns, participating in terminal emergency shutdown actions. Relevant duties under the Incident Control Plan in the event of a site incident Carries out process analysis, interpreting general plant and control room information and ensuring logs and documents are updated in a timely manner. Ensure alarms are effectively managed and actioned. Works alongside the site maintenance co-ordinator to provide proactive, second line maintenance. Supports terminal projects by providing regular attendance & contributions at meetings, accurate responses to technical queries and supporting installation works and commissioning. Takes a lead role in the supervision and motivation of assigned contract staff. Develops and reviews terminal operational procedures, policies and activities. Applicants are to be aware that the role requires day and night shift working, plus bank holidays and Christmas, as dictated by the shift rota.
